Meet Brandi Washington, LCSW-S

I am Brandi Washington, Licensed Clinical Social Worker-Supervisor and the heart behind Growth Matters! As a therapist and licensed clinical social worker, I’ve spent my career helping individuals prioritize their mental health and well-being. With nearly a decade of experience as a Social Worker, I have dedicated my career to supporting individuals through life’s most challenging moments. My expertise spans healthcare social work, where I have worked closely with patients navigating complex medical conditions, and a deep commitment to mental health and personal growth. Through my work, I have seen firsthand how physical health, emotional resilience, and social support intertwine, shaping an individual’s ability to heal and thrive. My therapeutic approach is rooted in mindfulness, strengths-based interventions, and solution-focused strategies that empower individuals to overcome stress, anxiety, and trauma while building a foundation for lasting well-being.

Therapy Philosophy

Every session is designed to support growth. I use a variety of therapy modalities with each working together to promote personal growth through empowerment, practical coping strategies, emotional regulation, and community support..

I support women—especially BIPOC professionals—who are navigating stress, transitions, burnout, or identity shifts, and who are ready to reclaim a sense of calm, clarity, and confidence.

Common client concerns might include:

  • Anxiety and overwhelm

  • Life transitions (career changes, relocating, caregiving roles)

  • Identity exploration (especially for BIPOC or first-gen clients)

  • Burnout or emotional exhaustion

  • Feeling misaligned with values or purpose

  • Chronic illness and caregiving

  • Women's physical and mental health

  • ADHD and neurodiversity

  • Career development

Now to the Fun Stuff About Me…

I relocated to the DFW area in 2020 and have lived all across the great state of Texas. When not working, I love trying new restaurants and going on walks at different trails in the area. I also enjoy different workout classes and events through ClassPass and EventBrite to stay active and explore new opportunities. Yoga and pilates are favorites of mine, as is relaxing after a long week of work. Weekends often revolve around brunch and finding a good coffee shop. You might find me picking up random hobbies from time to time, so feel free to ask about my current “hobby of the month.” While I don't engage much in social media, I do lurk on Facebook groups, discovering new resources in the community or recipes to try. This keeps me connected to fellow social workers and various community resources, ensuring I'm aware of everything new happening around me.
